Eredivisie 06/07 Final Standings

The Dutch League couldnt end any tighter this season. PSV has won the league by a goal. PSV and Ajax finished level on 75 points. PSV's goal difference of +50 was one more goal more than Ajax's +49. The main reason was PSV's final day trashing of Vitesse Arnhem. Ronald Koeman's PSV are the Dutch Champions for the third consecutive season.

1 PSV Eindhoven 50 75
2 Ajax Amsterdam 49 75
3 AZ Alkmaar 52 72
4 Twente Enschede 30 66
5 Heerenveen 17 55
6 Roda JC Kerkrade 11 54
7 Feyenoord Rotterdam -10 53
8 FC Groningen 0 51
9 FC Utrecht -3 48
10 NEC Nijmegen -8 44
11 NAC Breda -11 43
12 Vitesse Arnhem -5 38
13 Sparta Rotterdam -26 37
14 SC Heracles Almelo -32 32
15 Willem II Tilburg -33 31
16 Excelsior -22 30
17 RKC Waalwijk -27 27
18 ADO Den Haag -32 17

To make it worse for Ajax, they now enter a playoffs with Alkmaar, Twente and Heerenveen fot the right to enter the Champions League. The low standard of the league is evident where there were only 6 teams with positive goal difference.

Relegated: Den Haag, RKC or Excelsior (via playoff)

Ajax and PSV are the most successful teams in the history of Dutch league football.
Ajax has won the league 21 times
PSV has won the league 18 times
