Big Sam wants Baines

Sam Allardyce wants Wigan full-back Leighton Baines as his first signing for Newcastle. Allardyce has placwd a £5 million bid for the left-back. The highly rated left back was one of Wigan's better performers last season. The 22-year-old has gained 11 caps for the England under-21s side. baines is looking to move after Paul Jewell whom he had an excellent relationship with, left the club. His desire to break into the England squad could also fuel a move to a larger club.
