World Cup Winner Leaves Fiorentina

Fiorentina striker Luca Toni has officially ended his spell with the Tuscan outfit, confirmed the club this afternoon.

The world champion was last season’s top scorer with 31 goals. It has been reported that he has already agreed a two-year contract with Bayern Munich.

An official message on the club's website has stated that “Fiorentina announce that this morning President Andrea Della Valle met with Luca Toni,t hanking him for the important contribution given to the team in the past two seasons with his 49 goals, the President deemed appropriate to grant the striker’s wish to continue his career with another club.”

Toni, who turned 30 on Saturday, joined the Viola from Palermo in 2005, having also played for Treviso, Vicenza and Brescia.
