"I hope I can bring the success they are so desperate for."

Newcastle United are desperate for success and tonight, they have unveiled Big Sam Allardyce as the new commander in chief in thier search for that success. He was instrumental in transforming Bolton form a Division One outfit to one that is regularly challenging the European places.

What would Sam bring to Bolton. One thing for sure is that he will bring his 'scientific approach'. This particular science includes cramming over stats and the use of softwares to analyse his team and his players. A man who is known for attention to detail, Big Sam is looking to change the whole landscape behind the scenes. He wants to do things his way which had brought him success at Bolton.

This particular attention will be focused on the players nutrition. It is known to all that last season that Newcastle had difficulties with players injuries. He is set to look into that area as he aims to ensure the players remian fitter for a longer period of time. Knowing the changes that he intend to implement, he has asked for patience and mentioned that it wont happen overnight for them.

He also looks to solve the unrest in the dressing room. The clear message was given that he want players who want to play for the club and for the players to become committed as a team.

To the delight of fans, he has clearly state that he wants Micheal Owen and Obafemi Martins to stay at the club. This is understandable because they are are the two best strikers he has inherited.

18YB is interested on matters on the pitch. How will his Newcastle play? With reference to the way he sets out Bolton to play, he tend to go for the direct, long ball philosophy; keeping the pressure on the defence; constantly keeping the ball alive. He brought in players who are suited to that system of play. This includes Kevin Davies, Henrik Pedersen, Meite and Ivan Campo. Will he bring that philosophy to Newcastle. We reckoned that the Geodies wont fancy it and the players he has at present are not really THAT type of players. Players like Emre, Owen, Parker, Milner and N Zogbia are players who like to play football on the ground. So the question is will he keep his philosophy with long ball or change his style of football to suit his present players. If he were to stay with his long ball tactics, an exodus could happen at Newcastle. 18YB believes he now has a better pool of players to work with and we feel he will change his style. This agrees with the fact that he intend to keep Owen and Martins; players who are terrible in the air. So we expect a different Sam Allardyce next season. We also believe that he will be busy in the summer to add more quality to the Newcastle team.
