Lazio president Claudio Lotito is weighing up a bid for Independiente goalkeeper Oscar Ustari. The Argentine youngster has been a long-term target for Barcelona, but Lazio may have the inside-running by offering him immediate first team action. Gazzetta dello Sport says Milan chiefs have accepted Gilardino's demands yesterday that he be allowed to leave the San Siro and are already laying the groundwork over a swap deal for Cameroon star Eto'o.
Inter Milan goalkeeper Francesco Toldo is waiting for concrete contract offers from Lazio and Torino. Toldo is aware both Serie A rivals are keen to offer him regular first team action and he has already been informed by Inter they won't stand in his way should he choose to leave the San Siro this summer.
Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti is urging management to bring Barcelona's Bosman prospect Javier Saviola to Italy. "The two players I'd sign would be Saviola and Tevez," said Zanetti. "Perhaps the first would be easier to tear away from Barcelona.
