Chelsea is set to sign another British youngster. This time around they are planning to table a 1.5 million pounds bid for Leeds left back Ben Gordon.
Claude Makelele has held talks with Fenerbahce yesterday. He has also attracted French outfit, Paris Saint Germain (PSG). The aging midfielder is in his last year of contract and will be facing increased competition in the midfield next season.
Chelsea's favourite Gianfranco Zola has come out and said that he reckons Chelsea are very close to winning the Champions League. He said, "The Champions League shouldn't become a mental problem. They've got a master in handling mental situations in Mourinho. They've been very unlucky to be drawn twice against Liverpool because they are the only team who can create problems for Chelsea as they are very similar. I don't think it will be a problem next year and they will learn."
Drogba is not going anywhere. Drogba's statement in a recent interview this week that he would like one day to play in Italy or Spain has alerted AC Milan. However, the Ivory Coast international has told friends he would turn down all offers to leave Chelsea this summer.
Drogba is also in the news by admitting that Chelsea need more flair for next season. he has been quoted saying, "It would be good to be a little more flamboyant and daring. We were too careful, too sensible last season. This team needs to be a bit wilder. I have had Mourinho on the phone several times since the end of the Premiership and he is all psyched up. That is when he is at his best, when he has the feeling the whole world is against him. He is a winner who adores difficulty. It stimulates him."
