Gossip: Agreement is apparently "close" on a £5.5m deal for West Brom striker Diomansy Kamara that would see Heidar Helguson head in the opposite direction. Tottenham striker Mido will sample life at Craven Cottage with Spurs keen to offload him. Chelsea could hijack Fulham's move for Ulsan Tigers midfielder Lee Chun-Soo, both clubs being under pressure to sign a Korean star because of their sponsorship deals with firms from Korea.

LIVERPOOL

In: Andrey Voronin (Bayer Leverkusen, free), Kristian Nemeth & Andras Simon (both MTK Hungariam, undisclosed).

Out: Robbie Fowler (released), Florent Sinama Pongolle (Recreativo Huelva, £2.7m).

Gossip: You name him, he's probably been linked with Liverpool. The Reds are said to be poised to make a £25m "swoop" for Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres, while Rafa apparently wants to beat Newcastle, Sunderland, Aston Villa and Arsenalto the £15.5m signature of Villarreal striker Diego Forlan. Striker Djibril Cisse is in talks about spending another season on loan with Marseille, but if he can't have another loan spell, Bolton are ready to make a bid, say the Daily Mirror.

MANCHESTER CITY
