New Defender for Arsenal

Arsenal have confirmed that they have completed the signing of Auxerre full-back Bacary Sagna for an undisclosed fee.

Arsene Wenger confirmed to Arsenal’s official website: “He is a very capable defender and has played consistently well for Auxerre in recent seasons. He plays mainly at right-back, but can also play along the defence or in midfield. He is strong and quick.”

Sagna: “It's amazing. If someone had told me that one day I would be an Arsenal player I would not have believed him. I am very happy for my family, my friends and also for my future. It is really a positive move. I think this is one of the best English sides, the one that plays the best football."
