EURO 2008 Qualifiers...so far
Austria and Switzerland (Co-hosts)
Group A
Poland
Portugal(26pts) or Finland(23) or Serbia(20)
Key Matches: Serbia vs Poland, Serbia vs Kazakhstan, Portugal vs Finland
Serbia cant afford to drop points anymore. Finland need to beat Portugal.
A crazy scenario: If Finland wins, Serbia wins last two games, all 3 teams with 26points and i dont know what happens then....to be researched.
Group B
Italy
France
Group C
Greece
Turkey(21) or Norway(20)
Key Matches: Turkey vs Bosnia, Malta vs Norway
Scenario: If Turkey lost and Norway draws, Turkey qualifies due to better head2head. Norway needs to win and hope Turkey draws or loses.
Group D
Czech Republic
Germany
Group E
Croatia
England(23) or Russia(21)
Key Matches: England vs Croatia, Russia vs Andorra
Scenario: England just need a draw. A better head2head sees England through if they draw and Russia wins.
Group F
Spain
Sweden(23) or Northern Ireland(20)
Key Matches: Sweden vs Latvia, Spain vs Northern Ireland
Scenario: Sweden just need a point to qualify. By a freak miracle that Northern Ireland beat Spain and Sweden lost, Northern Irelan has a better head2head with Sweden.
Group G
Romania
Netherlands
Wish the BPL would finish this way
The much ignored S-League has advertised itself very well this season by giving the fans/bookies the most exciting title run in ever. With one match to go, here is how the table line up at the top.
Singapore Armed Forces 76 points
Home United 75 points
Tampines Rovers 74 points
SAF are the defending champions but they have a tough last game at home against GOmbak United. Tampines faces tricky opposition at home to Albirex while Home United is the only of the three to have an away fixture to Geylang.
All three matches kickoff at the same time on 21st November.
The much unknown competition, the Singapore Cup will be contested between SAF and Tampines at the Jalan Besar Stadium on the 25th of November at 7.45pm. As such there is the possibility of a double champion in Singapore football this season.
